Colgate football honors Dollar, Justin-Siena graduate
Colgate went 8-4 overall, won the Patriot League title, and was an NCAA-Division I-AA quarterfinalist. It was Colgate’s seventh trip to the playoffs. Dollar was a three-time All-Napa County player for Justin-Siena and was twice named as the Braves’ Defensive MVP. Napa Sporting, a boys under-13 team representing the Napa Valley Soccer Club, won the NorCal Cup Tournament’s silver division. Games were played during December and January on all-weather fields throughout Northern California, with semifinals and finals played last weekend in Clovis. In the semifinal on Saturday, Napa Sporting defeated Burlingame Arsenal 3-2. In Sunday’s final round Napa beat the Walnut Creek Diablos 3-1. Napa Sporting is coached by Vicente Roldan and Efren Torres. Team members are Ramzi Ali, Adan Arroyo, Michel Arroyo, Tyler Brown, Alex Canterra, Roberto Ceballos, Omar Delgadillo, Jesus Gomez, Eric Gutierrez, Diego Hernandez, Raymon Lopez, Alfonso Martinez, Bryan Marin, Rolando Morales and Emmanuel Roldan. Napa High graduate Kate Shipp had the assist as Lana Toki hit the game-winning basket to lead Solano Community College-Suisun to a 57-54 women’s basketball win over Contra Costa College-San Pablo and into a first-place tie in the Bay Valley Conference.
